Which exam board does Pass offer A Level Geography through?
Pass currently offers A Level Geography through AQA (7037). For a board-neutral UK reference, GOV.UK’s A Level Geography subject content sets out the subject content required across GCE AS and A Level Geography specifications.
Does A Level Geography include fieldwork?
Yes. Fieldwork is a required part of the AQA Geography A Level, assessed through an independent fieldwork investigation worth 20% of your final grade. Pass’s exam booking covers your two written papers only — you’ll need to complete the fieldwork investigation separately, either with another approved provider or exam centre, or you may already have this in place from previous study. Fieldwork carried out for AQA Geography can generally be carried forward for as long as the specification remains current, provided it meets the exam board’s requirements and is submitted within the permitted timeframe.
How is A Level Geography assessed overall?
Alongside the fieldwork investigation, you’ll sit two written papers: Paper 1 on physical geography and Paper 2 on human geography, each 2 hours 30 minutes and worth 40% of the A Level.
Are there any entry requirements for the A Level Geography exam?
There’s no formal requirement to have studied Geography at A Level standard before. A GCSE grade 4 or C in Geography or a related science or humanities subject is a helpful foundation before taking on the A Level.
How many UCAS points is this A Level Geography exam worth?
A Level Geography carries up to 56 UCAS points, the same tariff that applies across all A Level subjects. Points are awarded as follows: 56 for A*, 48 for A, 40 for B, 32 for C, 24 for D and 16 for E.
Can I book an A Level Geography resit as a private candidate?
Yes. You can book an A Level Geography resit as an external or private candidate, and Pass will help arrange your written exam entries at a suitable centre. For learners comparing private-candidate options across subjects, Pass’s A Level exam booking page explains how private entries work more broadly.
Can I sit my Geography A Level online?
No. Both A Level Geography written papers must be sat in person at a registered exam centre. Pass will confirm your centre details ahead of your exam dates. For other subjects, Pass offers both exam booking and an online course bundle through A Levels online, though exams themselves are always in person.
