Your Functional Skills Maths Level 1 online exam is sat entirely from home and the exam is based on the official Functional Skills maths subject content. Both TQUK and Open Awards papers run for two hours, and the pass mark varies between exam boards and papers depending on the difficulty.

There are no entry requirements for the Functional Skills Maths Level 1 exam. You only need a computer and a reliable internet connection. If you need access arrangements, please allow at least 5 working days for Online Remote Invigilation, or at least 10 working days for Online Human Invigilation, for processing.

What equipment do I need for the Level 1 maths exam online?

Is the Functional Skills Maths Level 1 qualification recognised?
Yes. The Functional Skills Maths Level 1 qualification you receive after passing is fully Ofqual-regulated. It is a nationally recognised maths qualification, accepted by employers, apprenticeship providers, training centres and colleges across the UK. While Level 1 is not GCSE-equivalent (that is Level 2), it is widely accepted in its own right and is the ideal stepping stone if you are working towards Level 2.
